In a tightly contested vote early this morning, House Republicans narrowly approved the "One Big Beautiful Bill" by a single-vote margin of 215 to 214. This comprehensive legislation, which advances much of President Trump’s domestic agenda, was passed after intense negotiations and pressure from GOP leadership to secure the support of hesitant members. The bill includes major elements such as substantial spending cuts, tax relief, enhanced border security, the defunding of Planned Parenthood, reductions to Medicaid and SNAP, and an increase in the Child Tax Credit. While many Republicans praise the bill as transformative for the nation, Democrats strongly oppose it, warning of potential political fallout. Ryan Walker, Executive Vice President of Heritage Action for America, shares his reaction to the bill passing the House and provides insight into the lack of federal funding Planned Parenthood would receive. He also discusses what promises may have been made to get the bill across the finish line and the continuing Democratic criticism of changes to Medicaid.
