Friends, as both a proud Catholic bishop and a proud American, it was a privilege to speak at the US Embassy to the Holy See on the points of contact between Catholicism and America. At its heart, America was founded upon deeply biblical convictions that ground our understanding of equality, human rights, freedom, and religious liberty. Thank you to the US Embassy to the Holy See and Ambassador Brian Burch for inviting me to speak in celebration of America at 250.
