Six months after a devastating wildfire tore through Altadena, California, EWTN News was on the ground to witness a touching moment of hope and healing. As the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage concluded, a Mass for the victims and a procession brought comfort to those still grappling with loss, including Tom and Theresa Costanzo, whose home of 27 years was consumed by flames in a matter of hours. They reflected on the overwhelming destruction, the long road to rebuilding, and a miraculous symbol of hope — an angel statue that survived amid the rubble. Firefighters who faced unprecedented challenges also joined the community in prayer, describing the fire as unlike anything they had seen before. The pilgrimage’s final stop at Corpus Christi Church, where only the tabernacle survived, served as a powerful sign of God’s presence amid tragedy. EWTN News' Montse Alvarado reports.
