A big victory for House Republicans and Speaker Mike Johnson—early this morning, the so-called "One Big Beautiful Bill," which includes much of President Trump's domestic agenda, passed the House by a razor-thin margin of 215 to 214. It took days of arm-twisting by GOP leadership and President Trump to bring a dozen Republican holdouts on board. At a celebratory news conference, Republicans touted the bill as “nation-shaping” legislation to reduce spending, lower taxes, and secure the border. But not all Republicans were on board—Rep. Thomas Massie, the only Republican to oppose the bill, called it a “debt bomb,” criticizing what he described as “phony math.” The Congressional Budget Office estimates the bill will add over $3 trillion to the deficit over the next decade. Still, it includes key wins for pro-life Americans, along with cuts to Medicaid and SNAP, defunding Planned Parenthood, and boosting the Child Tax Credit. Democrats strongly opposed the bill, with Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries warning Republicans they’ll pay a political price in 2026. Capitol Hill Correspondent Erik Rosales reports.
