In today’s Gospel reflection, we explore a powerful truth from Matthew’s Gospel: miracles do not create faith — faith creates miracles.

After healing Jairus’ daughter and performing other mighty works, Christ encounters two blind men who cry out, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” When Jesus asks them, “Do you believe that I can do this?” they respond, “Yes, Lord.” And He replies, “According to your faith be it done to you.”

This passage reveals a profound spiritual principle:

👉 Miracles are the fruit of faith.
👉 Faith is not the result of miracles.

Throughout the Gospel, the Pharisees, Sadducees, Herod, and even those at the foot of the Cross demand signs before they will believe. But Christ refuses to perform miracles on demand because faith must come first.

We also reflect on:

The spiritual meaning behind physical blindness

Why Jesus performed miracles quietly

The connection between healing and humility

The Greek concept of synergia — cooperation with God

Why modern believers often fall into the same trap as the Pharisees

Let us not demand solutions first — job, finances, health, relationships — and promise faith later.
Let us instead respond as the blind men did:

“Yes, Lord.”
