In the first 100 days of the Trump administration, pro-life advocates have seen a wave of victories. From pardoning anti-abortion activists to cutting funds from Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers, President Trump has taken decisive steps aligning with the pro-life movement. Trump has also ordered the recognition of only two sexes — male and female — sparking backlash from Democrats, including Senator Cory Booker, who accuses the White House of targeting the LGBTQ community. The Republican-controlled Congress has also passed several pro-life bills, while House Speaker Mike Johnson says there is more to come in the reconciliation bill. Meanwhile, pro-life lawmakers have sent a letter to President Trump asking him to stop the funding of embryonic stem cell research. Representative Mary Miller has proposed legislation requiring ultrasounds, waiting periods, and parental notification for minors seeking abortions. Additionally, new legislation has been introduced to ban taxpayer funding for gender transition procedures — a move Republicans claim would save taxpayers $200 million annually.
