The nation’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, has released its latest annual report, showing a record 402,230 abortions in 2023—up 2.4% from the previous year—while receiving over $790 million in taxpayer funding. Furthermore, the report indicates that 97% of women seeking help for their pregnancy received an abortion rather than prenatal care or an adoption plan. It also reveals that for every adoption referral, Planned Parenthood performed 187 abortions. Michael New, Senior Associate Scholar at the Charlotte Lozier Institute, joins to analyze the report, the renewed push to defund Planned Parenthood, and how the report could influence ongoing efforts to strip the abortion giant of federal funding.
