Before I was Catholic, I played the blessed mother Mary in a Baptist musical. I’m not the best singer but my heart was in it and those weren’t acting tears. 😭 I put myself at the foot of that Cross and I couldn’t hold it together.
Years later, I’m becoming Catholic And suddenly everything I felt in that moment makes sense now more than ever.
I truly understand Good Friday. He suffered for us, she suffered with Him. Mary intercedes for all of us and leads us to her beloved Son Jesus. It’s not idolatry or worship. It is honor and love.
