Everything the apostles taught was eventually written down in the New Testament." Catholics hear this constantly — it's the foundation of sola scriptura. But is it true? In this episode of Catholic Bible Highlights, Kenny Burchard walks through 17 verses of Scripture that directly contradict this claim. Paul explicitly distinguishes oral tradition from written letters. John says he'd rather not write things down. Acts records a saying of Jesus found nowhere in the Gospels. Jesus taught for 40 days after his resurrection — almost none of it recorded. Seven of the twelve apostles wrote nothing at all. The Bible itself says the apostolic deposit wasn't all written down. So where is it? Paul answers that too.
