At Mass on Sunday we finish the creed by saying, “I believe in the Resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.” But what is the resurrection? And what is this life of the world to come?

Jesus said that at the end of time, all of us will be given a new body and rise from the dead. This applies to all people, those who will spend eternity with God and those who will be eternally separated from him. And for those who aren’t ready yet for heaven, God gives us purgatory.
