Discover the powerful life of Venerable Stephen of the Kiev Far Caves, a saint who embodied humility, obedience, and unwavering faith even in the face of betrayal.

A disciple of St. Theodosius of the Kiev Caves, Stephen rose to become Igumen (Abbot) of the monastery. Entrusted with spiritual leadership, he helped expand the monastery and laid the foundation for a church dedicated to the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos.

Yet despite his faithfulness, he was unjustly removed from his position through the malice of a fellow monk. Instead of anger, St. Stephen responded with meekness and prayer, becoming a profound example of Christ-like endurance.

Later, he was appointed Bishop of Vladimir in Volhynia, where he continued his missionary labors, converting many to Christianity and participating in the translation of the relics of his spiritual father, St. Theodosius.

🕊️ He reposed in the Lord on April 27, 1094.

This is a story of:
