President Donald Trump’s plan for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip is now in effect. The deal is raising hopes for an end to the Israel-Hamas war. The remaining hostages are set to be released within days. In addition, to help support and monitor the ceasefire, the U.S. will send about 200 troops to Israel. However, many questions remain. Daniel Ayalon, former Israeli ambassador to the United States and former foreign policy advisor to Benjamin Netanyahu, joins to share more about the agreement. He discusses how the deal will impact the region and how much faith Israel has that Hamas will follow through and disarm. He also discusses what may happen if either side breaks the ceasefire agreement.
