The College of Cardinals is preparing for the upcoming conclave to elect a new pope, with 133 eligible cardinals confirmed to vote—surpassing the usual 120-elector limit. Cardinal Angelo Becciu, recently convicted of embezzlement and fraud, has voluntarily withdrawn from the conclave, citing respect for the Church and the wishes of the late Pope Francis. In the seventh General Congregation, 180 cardinals met to discuss key topics ahead of the conclave, including Vatican finances, transparency, and a desire for greater unity—setting the stage for a historic election. EWTN's Rome correspondent Colm Flynn has more.
