On Friday, June 19, 2026, the Canons of St. Michael's Abbey will convene to elect a new abbot. This livestream will follow the Liturgy of the Hours during this historic occasion, as well as the first public introduction of the newly elected abbot.

The general schedule is as follows; all times Pacific.

9:30 AM — TERCE

‍10:00 AM - THE ORDER OF ELECTION
Following Terce, the canons process into into the chapter room for voting.
(This is a private process, reserved for the professed of the community. We will keep the livestream of the abbey church running during this time, and we invite the faithful to pray for our community.)

11 AM - 1 PM, APPROX. - THE ELECTION CONCLUDES
Once a new abbot is elected, the canons process to the abbey church with the new abbot, chanting the Te Deum. This is followed by a Profession of Faith and Oath of Fidelity.

The livestream concludes with SEXT (TIME TBD).
