Pope Leo XIV has called for a global day of prayer and fasting on August 22 amid ongoing wars. Marking the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Pope urged the faithful to seek Mary’s intercession as the Queen of Peace. Italian bishops, including Cardinal Baldo Reina and Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, have joined the call to pray and fast for peace and justice. Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, reiterated his gratitude for the Pope’s continued focus on peacekeeping. EWTN Vatican Correspondent Valentina Di Donato has more.
