In this episode of The Patrick Coffin Show, activist comedian Josh Seiter sits down to explore the power of satire in exposing the contradictions of DEI culture and woke ideology.
Through his man-on-the-street videos (he has, to date, 1.8 million followers on Instagram), Josh uses humor, parody, and exaggerated “activist” personas on Instagram to reveal how incoherent and self-defeating so many fashionable social doctrines have become.
Josh explains how his viral activist reels mimic the language of hyper-performative progressivism—complete with buzzwords, moral grandstanding, and grievance trope—to highlight the absurdities we see everywhere.
By pushing ideas to their logical (and often illogical) extremes, he forces viewers to confront questions they might otherwise avoid: What is equity, really? Who defines inclusion? And why does dissent automatically equal harm?
Patrick and Josh discuss why satire works when direct argument fails, whether it’s a character of Josh’s griping about being “mispigmented at birth” by a ‘bigoted doctor,” or acting as a “trans Indigenous Native,” confronting pro-abortion hypocrisy, humor lowers defenses.
It’s a brilliant use of reductio ad absurdum.
They also examine the risks—misinterpretation, outrage mobs, and platform censorship—when making bacon burgers out of sacred cows in the age of social media.
This conversation is not just about comedy. It’s about clarity, and the tools at our disposal to expose evil ideologies.
In a time when serious debate is often stifled, satire may be one of the last remaining tools for exposing ideological excess and encouraging critical thinking.
