I didn’t expect to find it so moving or inspiring to start a pen pal club and have to match 100 women with new friends.

But it was. Incredibly.

I learned in the process a bit more about finding true sisters in Christ, and about living my faith as a Catholic woman.

Sometimes we feel silly for connecting with women online or having ‘mentors’ who we watch on YouTube. But these women can guide us and encourage us, perhaps in ways that no woman we know in real life right now does.

It’s hard to make friends as an adult- and even hard it feels sometimes to make friends in a new community, as a convert, who perhaps doesn’t know the right way yet to talk or dress or talk about God.

Just a few of my thoughts about all of this- and I hope it encourages some of you out there still searching for great female friends like I am.
