On this day, 44 years ago, Mother Angelica “flipped the switch,” marking the on-air launch of EWTN. We are thankful for the work our foundress put into turning a monastery garage into a television studio. Today, EWTN broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to more than 435 million television households around the world. We are honored to continue her work on the first Catholic satellite television station. Recently, Montse Alvarado, President and COO of EWTN News, spoke with EWTN’s Chairman and CEO, Michael Warsaw, about the anniversary and the legacy of Mother Angelica.
