Celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit with this powerful selection of Gregorian Chants for Pentecost, the feast marking the birth of the Church. This collection includes traditional hymns and antiphons such as Veni Creator Spiritus, Spiritus Domini, Veni Sancte Spiritus, and the Communio Factus est repente, performed by the Schola Gregoriana Mediolanensis under the direction of Giovanni Vianini.
These chants, rooted in early medieval liturgy (9th–12th century), were composed to accompany the Pentecost Mass and the solemn vespers. Each piece is a prayer of invocation and praise to the Holy Spirit, echoing centuries of monastic devotion.
Pentecost, the fiftieth day after Easter, marks the descent of the Holy Spirit in tongues of fire upon Mary and the disciples gathered in the Upper Room. It is a feast of divine presence, mission, and renewal—a moment when fear was transformed into bold witness, and prayer into proclamation.
