House Republicans passed a major spending and tax bill backed by President Trump, but some Senate Republicans are pushing back, arguing the bill increases the deficit and needs major changes. They are demanding over $1.5 trillion in cuts passed by the House to reduce the deficit. President Trump has expressed his support for the bill but says Senate Republicans should make changes where they see fit. Currently, the bill takes nearly $300 billion from SNAP, a program providing nutrition to those in need. Presidential advisor Elon Musk also expressed concern about the House bill, suggesting it undermines the work the DOGE team is doing to decrease spending. However, Speaker Mike Johnson urges the Senate to make minimal changes to preserve the bill’s delicate balance. Capitol Hill Correspondent Erik Rosales reports.
