The Sacred Heart of Jesus reveals something we often forget: Jesus wants us more than we want Him.

It's easy to think we're the ones doing all the pursuing. We make time for prayer, try to stay faithful, and keep showing up. Meanwhile, God can seem distant—waiting to see if we'll come close enough.

But the Sacred Heart tells a different story.

His Heart is open. His Heart is burning with love. His Heart is wounded for us. In image after image, Jesus doesn't hide His Heart—He offers it.

As if to say, "Here is My love. Here is My mercy. Here is My very self."

This is not the posture of a distant Savior. This is the posture of Someone who longs to be close to us.

The more we spend time with the Sacred Heart, the more we begin to see that Jesus is not reluctantly receiving us. He is eagerly welcoming us. He is not waiting for us to become holier, more disciplined, or more put together. He simply wants us.

And His Heart has always been open.

Long before the revelations to Saint Margaret Mary, we see His Heart in the Gospel itself—in His compassion, His tenderness, His pierced side on the Cross, and His invitation to Thomas to come close to His wounds and believe.

The Sacred Heart reminds us that we are loved first. Before we ever reached for Him, His Heart was already reaching for us.
