MAGNIFICAT sung in ARAMAIC | Harpa Dei ♪
Composed by P. Miled Tarabay
Arrangement: Harpa Dei
We learned this beautiful and delicate 'Magnificat' from the Maronites, the Christians of Lebanon who still use Aramaic in parts of their liturgy today. This is the language that the Virgin Mary would have spoken in her daily life. 'All generations will call me blessed,' Mary exclaimed in her song of praise, and so it came to pass. The tenderness of this song reflects the love with which the heavenly Father looked upon His beloved Daughter. It speaks to us of the mystery of her divine Motherhood and the Holy Spirit's delight in His all-pure Spouse.
