Russia and Ukraine held their first direct peace talks since the early days of the war but failed to reach a ceasefire agreement. However, both sides agreed to exchange 1,000 prisoners of war. President Donald Trump said it’s time to end the conflict and announced his intent to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin “as soon as we can set it up.” Meanwhile, Ukrainian officials accused Russia of introducing "unacceptable demands" during talks.
