La Biennale di Venezia is an international art exhibition held in Venice that draws artists from around the world—and even the Holy See takes part. This year, the focus is not on what visitors can see, but on what they can hear. The event features an immersive experience through the music of St. Hildegard of Bingen, the German saint and Doctor of the Church. The International Exhibition runs from May 9 to November 22 this year. The theme is “The Ear Is the Eye of the Soul.” There are 24 participating artists who drew inspiration from St. Hildegard. Ben Vickers, one of the curators, spoke to EWTN News about why St. Hildegard was chosen as the inspiration. EWTN Vatican journalist Bénédicte Cedergren has more.
