A Catholic doctor, Dr. Jérôme Lejeune dedicated his life to researching ways to help people with Down syndrome and advocating for his patients. In 2021, Pope Francis advanced Dr. Lejeune's cause for canonization, recognizing his heroic virtues and declaring him "venerable" within the Catholic Church. Despite the strides Dr. Lejeune made in reducing stigma surrounding the genetic disorder, many people with Down syndrome continue to face discrimination. However, one little boy and his family are working tirelessly to change this narrative. Their mission, founded on the belief that a person’s value comes not from what they can do, but from who they are as human beings created in the likeness of God, is embodied in the story of Will Daub, also known as "Iron Will." Cathy Daub, Will's mother and Director of Team 'Iron Will,' joins to share her inspiration behind creating the organization. She also discusses what can be done to reduce the number of aborted babies with Down syndrome to zero, the assistance their organization offers to families in the Down syndrome community, and provides advice to new parents of children with Down syndrome.
