During a solemn Mass in St. Peter's Square, Pope Leo canonized seven blesseds, declaring them saints of the Catholic Church before a crowd of approximately 70,000 faithful. Among them were Bartolo Longo, Peter To Rot, Ignatius Maloyan, Vincenza Maria Poloni, Maria Troncatti, José Gregorio Hernández Cisneros, and María del Carmen Rendiles Martínez. In his homily, Pope Leo emphasized their authentic witness to the faith, stating that through God's grace, they became lamps shining with the light of Christ. This celebration highlights the Church’s diverse path to sainthood — from martyrs and missionaries to laypeople and religious — all living examples of faith and the call to holiness.
